At Rustwood Coffee, we believe great coffee deserves great care. Here’s how to brew each of our signature blends to perfection, tailored to your favorite brewing method.

Brewing Methods

A. Pour-Over Perfection

  • Ratio: 1g coffee to 15-17g water (about 2 tbsp per 6 oz water).
  • Grind: Medium-coarse, like sea salt.
  • Steps:Wet the filter to remove any paper taste.Add coffee grounds and pour a small amount of water to bloom for 30-45 seconds.Slowly pour remaining water in a circular motion. Total brew time: 3-4 minutes.
  • Perfect for: Light roasts like First Call.

B. French Press Boldness

  • Ratio: 1:15 coffee-to-water (1 tbsp per 4 oz water).
  • Grind: Coarse, like breadcrumbs.
  • Steps: Add coffee grounds and pour in hot water.Stir gently and let steep for 4 minutes.Slowly press the plunger and enjoy immediately.
  • Best with: Dark blends like Old Guard for a bold, rich flavor.

C. Cold Brew Ease

  • Ratio: 1:4 coffee-to-water (1 cup coffee, 4 cups water).
  • Steps: Combine coarsely ground coffee and water in a jar.Stir gently and cover. Steep in the fridge for 12-24 hours.Strain through a coffee filter or fine mesh. Serve over ice.
  •  Recommended for: Smooth, nutty blends like Forest Whisper.
